Ninth Strictly Come Dancing Contestant Revealed
Spaces are filling up quickly!
BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty is the latest celebrity to be announced as a contestant on the next series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The news was announced on the Strictly Come Dancing Twitter account earlier this morning.
The 41 year old journalist and newsreader has said she is "petrified" at the thought of taking part on the show after sharing the story of a dancing mishap when she was younger: “We decided we would learn a proper dance. It didn’t go well… I actually fell over in a big puff of wedding dress!”
Even though she is apprehensive about her new venture she is also looking forward to the challenge: “I’ve always enjoyed watching Strictly. It’s a brilliant show and it’s lots of fun.”
Naga joins a line-up that already includes former Hollyoaks actor Danny Mac, former Eternal member Louise Redknapp, ex-shadow Chancellor Ed Balls, singer Will Young, TV presenter Laura Whitmore, radio DJ Melvin Odoom, model Daisy Lowe and sports broadcaster Ore Oduba.
