James Corden Announces Return Of Gavin & Stacey
James Corden has announced the return of popular sitcom Gavin & Stacey.
The talk show host announced the news online by posting a photo of a closed script titled "Gavin & Stacey - Christmas Special 2019".
Corden captioned the post saying "Ruth Jones and I have been keeping a secret for a while...We're excited to share it with you. See you Christmas Day!"
James Corden and Ruth Jones co-wrote the show which first aired in 2007 before a New Year's Day finale episode in 2010. The sitcom follows the story of Englishman Gavin played by Matthew Horne and Welsh woman Stacey portrayed by Joanna Page.
A statement from the pair read:
"Over the last ten years we've talked a lot about Gavin & Stacey - where they might be today and what their lives might look like. And so in secret we took the plunge and wrote this one hour special. 'We've loved revisiting Barry and Essex again and bringing the characters back together has been a joy.
"We're so excited to get the chance to work with our fabulous cast and crew once more and to give fans of the show a festive treat this Christmas. Thank you BBC for helping make this happen."
