UCC SU President hits out at decision not to reimburse students who have moved out of student accommodation

The President of the Students' Union at UCC says he's saddened and disappointed by a decision not to offer refunds or credit to students who have moved out of a city centre student accommodation complex.

Amnis House on Western Road is operated by Uninest, one of the largest landlord firms in the country, with students paying up to €244 a week to live there.

Universities, colleges and schools across the country closed on Thursday for two weeks to help stop the spread of the coronavirus, however it's expected the closures will continue for longer as many campuses prepare to host field hospitals and isolation units.
