Aviation industry will take years to recover according to SIPTU

There are calls for more supports for the airline industry as it will take years for the sector to recover, according to SIPTU.

It wants a redundancy ban in any companies that are availing of the temporary wage subsidy scheme.

Last month Aer Lingus said it would have to get rid of 500 jobs at the company due to the effects of the pandemic, while Ryanair has announced the closure of a base in Germany.
