Two weather warnings in place, listeners told to batten down the hatches once again, fears of further power outages

A yellow weather warning is in place from 9 o'clock this morning with heavy rainfall expected right across the city and county.

There is a risk of flooding particularly in the county where the County Council says a tidal surge will coincide with the high tides.

There's a particular risk of flooding in Bantry, Clonakilty, Youghal and Midleton and sandbags will be available at Council depots this morning for concerned businesses and householders.

Meanwhile Met Eireann has issued a Status Orange wind warning as Storm Brian approaches.

Wind are expected to reach speeds of 65km/hr with gusts of 110km/hr between 10pm tonight and 10pm tomorrow night.

Meanwhile Storm Brian could potentially cause further power outages across Cork.

That's the warning from ESB Networks who have been working continuously to restore the power to the thousands of homes affected by Storm Ophelia.

Storm Brian is expected to bring heavy rain and severe winds which could result in hazzardous condtions with fallen trees and power lines.

People are being urged not to approach these lines, to treat them as live and to contact ESB Networks 1850 372 999.

Speaking to RedFM News Denis Cambridge of ESB Networks says their focus is keeping the public and their staff safe:
