Today marks International Women's Day
There are more women in Ireland than men - according to the 2016 Census.
Ireland has almost 2 and a half million females with the biggest ratio difference in Dublin.
In general, women are better educated than men with 43 percent of women having a third level education.
The figures have been released to mark International Women's Day.
