Teachers On The Picket Line In Cork Say A Two Tier Pay System Is Driving People Out Of The Sector

19,000 members of the Teacher's Union of Ireland have walked off the job today to protest what they say is ongoing pay discrimination.

The union says teachers employed after the first of January 2011 will earn around €110,000 less than some of their colleagues over the course of their career.

Conor Crowley is one of the teachers employed under the new teaching contract.

Speaking to RedFM News on the picket line at Coláiste Choilm in Ballincollig he says low pay has left some schools scrambling to find teachers:
