Students Demanding Action On Climate Change Have Marched Through Cork City
Hundreds of secondary school students have gathered on the steps of City Hall
"It's our future"
That's the message from hundreds of Cork secondary school students who have marched through the City centre and are gathering on the steps of City Hall this lunchtime.
The students are urging the government to declare a "climate emergency" are were inspired by 15 year old Swedish secondary school student Greta Thunberg who began taking Fridays off class to highlight climate change.
Speaking to RedFM News at today's protest, 2nd year student at Cork Educate Together Secondary School Cian Farrell says the government is ignoring the issue:
