Staff At Bessborough Say Closure Of The Family Centre Will Be A Huge Loss To Cork
105 staff could lose their jobs by January if a new location cannot be found.
The Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary informed staff at the centre, which provides family support, supervised access and theraputic services, that they are withdrawing their involvement in the charity.
In a statement to staff seen by RedFM News, the London based religious order say the decision was taken as part of the "overall restructuring of the work of the congregation in keeping with present resources."
Speaking to RedFM News, social worker and child protection specialist at Bessborough Tara Keogh says the announcement has led to a lot of uncertainty for staff and users of the service:
