Sinn Féin TD Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire Says The Ideal Government Is One Outside Of The ‘Cartel’ Created By Fine Gael And Fianna Fáil

Deputy Ó Laoghaire was speaking following the release of the final tally

It sees him lead Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin in the Cork South-Central constituency.

 The tally also suggests the third and fourth seats will go to Tánaiste Simon Coveney and Fianna Fáil’s Michael McGrath...

Three boxes have not yet been counted in South Central, however they are not predicted to make any difference to the standings. 

Sinn Féin’s Thomas Gould is comfortably in front of Fianna Fáils Pádraig O’Sullivan and Fine Gael’s Colm Burke in North Central…

However the final seat is far from a certainty, with Solidarity TD Mick Barry, Independent Ken O’Flynn, FF Tony Fitzgerald and Green candidate Oliver Moran all separated by around 1%. 

Speaking to RedFM News at the count centre at Nemo Rangers, Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire says while the exact make-up of the next government is unclear at the moment, his party are being realistic:
