Senior UCC Lecturer Says He Will Not Be Intimidated By An Anonymous Death Threat
Dr Amanullah De Sondy took to Twitter to highlight the Islamophobic voicemail he received yesterday.
The anonymous caller labelled the senior lecturer a terrorist, a scumbag and a racist and called for him to be executed.
President of UCC Professor Patrick G. O' Shea described Dr De Sondy, who has been a lecturer in contemporary Islam at UCC, since 2015, as 'a courageous friend and a wonderful scholar and educator' and said the University stands with him against ignorant shameful hate.
In a statement issued to RedFM News, UCC say it has a duty of care to its staff and will be examining the matter with Dr De Sondy
