Residents Of The Lough Concerned Over Future Of The Community
Residents from The Lough say the future of their community is at stake following the publication of revised plans to a high rise development in the area.
The "Save the Lough From Highrise" Group say the developers have ignored issues raised by residents and any changes are minor and do nothing to satisfy concerns raised by the community.
The opposition group say the 350 bed student accommodation will change the fabric of the traditional residential area, which is made up of mostly elderly residents.
Residents are fearful the plans will have a negative visual impact on the area, and cause material damage to one of Corks most iconic recreational sites.
Speaking to RedFM News Spokesperson from Save the Lough From Highrise Group Billy O'Connor says locals are vehemently opposed to the develoment:
