Over 200 Delegates From Cork's Tourism Industry Are Meeting Today To Plan Ahead For The Future

Threats like a potential decline in UK visitor numbers due to Brexit and opportunities such as Cork's emergence as a popular destination for large international conferences are among the topics being discussed at the conference in Little Island.

Over 20,000 people are employed in the tourism industry in Cork, with attractions like Spike Island and Fota Wildlife Park and hubs like Cork Airport hosting record numbers of visitors and passengers last year.

Speaking to RedFM News at the conference this morning, head of Visit Cork Seamus Heaney says capitalising on new routes at Cork Airport will be a huge priority for the industry going forward:
