Number Without Broadband Across Cork Reduced To 110,000

Eir says the number of customers without broadband, telephone and mobile service as a result of the Storm has reduced to 110,000.

The company says Cork County is one of the worst affected areas but they expect that the numbers of customers without service will reduce today as power supply issues are resolved.

Approximately 1,200 staff are working to assess and repair network damage and field technicians have, as a priority, attempted to make safe any dangerous poles or cables that have posed a public safety risk.

Customers can find updates by clicking on eir.ie and are encouraged to log faults on the "Log a Fault" section of the website or through the automated customer service line 1901.
