The products can be sold to sufferers of multiple sclerosis, a form of epilepsy, and can help with nausea associated with chemotherapy.
It was signed into law in June by the Health Minister.
The products can be prescribed by a consultant, and it's expected it will take a number of weeks before they're available to patients.
