Man to appear in court in connection with city centre assault
A man in his 40s is due to appear in court charged in relation to an assault on a man in Cork city.
On Tuesday afternoon, a man was sitting on a bench in Bishop Lucey Park when he was approached by three men.
One of the group assaulted the man and stole a bottle of vodka from his bag.
The victim was brought to hospital with apparent stab wounds but has since been discharged.
The man will appear before Cork District Court this morning.
