Hundreds Take To The Streets Of Cork Calling For An End To The Housing Crisis

Latest homeless figures for October show 447 adults are living in emergency accommodation in Cork


The Right2Housing campaign mounted the protest today in the wake of the latest homeless figures for October which show a worsening of the situation with a record high of 447 adults in emergency accommodation in Cork, that's a 3% increase on September figures.

There is some minor traffic disruption in the city centre as a result of the protest however Gardaí are out in force escorting the march as it makes its way through the streets.

The finger of blame is being firmly pointed at the Government by protesters at today's demonstration but they also say the people of Cork are to blame as everyone needs to get involved to bring about change:
