Early Years Workers In Cork To Travel To Dublin To Protest Over The State Of The Irish Childcare Sector

Around 1,700 childcare facilities are expected to remain closed today as part of the action

Early Years workers in Cork say they're angry about the state of the Irish childcare sector. 

They made the comments to RedFM News in the City this morning ahead of their journey to Dublin to join other childcare workers in a demonstration to highlight what they say is a lack of funding and low pay in the sector.

Around 1,700 childcare facilities including creches, daycare and pre-school services are expected to remain closed today as part of the action. 

Hundreds are travelling from Cork to take part in today's protest.
