Cork Will Come To A Standstill Unless There Is Investment In The Bus Network 

That's according to Dermot O'Leary of the National Bus and Rail Union

He was reacting to comments by Cork Chamber who say Cork is at risk of becoming uncompetitive if progress is not made on Cork's €200 million Bus Connects Plan.

The plan was announced last year, however Cork Chamber say no progress has been made on additional bus lanes, park and ride facilities or cycle lanes, despite predictions that Cork's population will double in size to up to 360,000 people by 2040.

Dermot O'Leary of the NBRU told RedFM News that the plan should be rolled out as the bus is the workhorse of the industry and is one of the solutions to ease gridlock in the city:
