Winds are expected to reach speeds of 80 km an hour gusting up to 130 km an hour in coastal parts of Cork with coastal flooding expected.
Speaking to RedFM News Tom Stritch is the Director of Service for Roads with Cork County Council is advising listeners not to make any unnecessary journeys during this weather alert.
