Minister Naughten says the new apps pose more of a threat to children online than the major players like Google and Facebook.
Reps from the tech giants, children’s charities and Gardaí are meeting today to discuss the risks posed by the internet and what action needs to be taken.
Grainia Long from the ISPCC says parents also have a role to play.
