An Post Is To Unveil A New €15 Million Parcel Hub In Dublin
It comes just months after the closure of the Little Island Mail Centre was announced
The new hub is located beside the An Post's existing Mail Centre and is built to handle 120,000 parcels a day.
The company announced the loss of 216 jobs at the letter sorting centre in Little Island in July in a move they say will save the company €11 million, however employees at the facility say it does not need to be closed and could be converted into a parcel hub
The job losses followed confirmation from the company last year that it intends to close 159 post offices as part of restructuring plans.
