Actor Ian Holm passes away aged 88
The actor Ian Holm, who was best known for playing Bilbo Baggins in The Lord Of The Rings, has died at the age of 88.
He also played the android Ash in the 1979 film Alien, and was a sports coach in the Oscar-winning Chariots of Fire.
His agent says he passed away peacefully in hospital with his family this morning, following a battle with Parkinson's disease.
